The Cottrellville Township Board serves as the governing body of Cottrellville Township. As a board, they set policies and rules by which the township is operated, including establishing goals and target issues to be addressed in the township, within the parameters set by the Michigan Township Association (MTA). The Township Board consists of five elected officials; Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer and two Trustees. Board members serve four-year terms.
The Cottrellville Township Board can only act as a single body. No single board member has the authority to make orders or directives individually. For voting purposes, majority rules. Regular Township Board meetings are held once a month and are open to the public. The Township Board may also hold additional meetings for workshops or for special meetings on specific issues as needed, which are also open to the public.
It is the goal of the Cottrellville Township Board to be of service to the citizens of our township; to maintain financial stability and economic growth within our township; and to enhance community and neighborhood vitality.
